Child-welfare worker abused daughter

A former norwegian child-welfare worker is charged with rape, incest and sexual assault against both his daughters, who are 16 and 17 years at present. He admits to have had sexual intercourse five times with his (now) 17 year old daughter between May 2002 and July 2004.

 -I don't know why I did it. It was a short circuit. I was in psychological imbalance,he explained in court.

On request by the 17-year old the court administatror, judge Rolf Karset, decided that the father had to hear his daughters statement in a separate room. The daughter confirmed that the intercoursees had taken place, but could not estimate exactly the number of assaults.

 -It happened maybe every three months from 1997 to 2004, she said when questioned by the prosecutor, disctrict attorney Jan Henrik Dahle.

 She claimed that the first assault took place in the spring of 1997,just before her tenth birthday. The last one supposedly happened in July last year.

Prostitution

 According to the girl, the father suggested at one point that she should receive money, up to 400 kr, to sleep with him.

 -I didn't want to, and I tried to fight him off, but I couldn't get away.

-Did he say anything to you? the prosecutor asked.

-Yes, he said it was the last time.

-Because he had done it before?

 -Yes, the 17 year old answered.

 The defendant denied having abused the youngest daughter (now 16), even though he has admitted to this in earlier police questioning.
