Denmark-Norway at War The common Danish-Norwegian embassy in Indonesia was stormed by Muslims who declared Jihad (holy war). Denmark and Norway's embassies in Damascus are burning to the ground at the time of writing. Syrian government officials made no attempts at intervening when the embassies were put on fire. Embassies are, as is commonly known, a part of the respective fatherland's soil, and the attacks are thus to be recognised as an invasion. The Norwegian foreign ministry are advising against travelling to a selection of Muslim countries, and Palestinians on the West bank are scrutinizing the local hotels for ethnic Norwegians. The Norwegian foreign ministry has started evacuation of Norwegian civilians. Denmark-Norway led great losses, both military and moral, both against England under the last Napoleon war, and against Germany during the second World War. Will they defend their freedom and the western civilisation this time again, shoulder to shoulder? And where is Peter Wessel now?
Freedom of speech, JHVH and Muhammed– Who gets to draw who? The attacks are caused by the reprint of drawings of the so-called prophet Muhammed (originally printed by Jyllandsposten in Denmark), by the Norwegian Christian publication «Magazinet». According to Islam (Harb)[1], it is, like in the Old Testament, not allowed to draw or show pictures of the persons and metaphysical beings described within the texts. The god of the Jews, JHVH, has however been published on a number of fora, amongst others by the Christian revival-congregation «Jesus Revolution» and in anti-Jewish caricature in Arabic newspapers. The Arabic TV-station Al-Jazeera had such drawings on their websites until they were, conveniently, removed when the hysterics around the Danish drawings began to unfold. The Muslims of the world are however expecting that also non-Muslim countries follow their religious rules, and therefore react with wrath.
Freedom of speech is, however something you either have, or don't have. Partial freedom of speech does not exist. Norway and Denmark have already limited their respective legislation in the direction of extra protection around their majority population[2], but will have to live with further limitations, either in the form of new legislation or economical and social sanctions, if an escalation of the conflict and similar encounters are to be avoided in the future. Something that also belongs to the story, is that Muhammed earlier has been depicted, though not by non-Muslims, but his own followers. How offensive it is for a Muslim to see Muhammed depicted, thus seems to be all about who drew him. An anonymous Danish reader of Extrabladet summarized the whole matter this way: We apologise, we apologise We apologise, because we gave you housing and help We apologise, because we give you an education We apologise, because we help you economically We apologise, because we let you worship your god in our Christian country We apologise, because we send help to your countries We apologise, because we don't claim bloody vengeance for the murders of our countrymen by the hands of Muslims We apologise, because we don't strut around with explosives strapped to the body, when we feel insulted We apologise, because we don't just do what your faith dictates
But an apology for expressing ourselves in our own country and after our own rules – that you will never have
Moderate Muslim versus fundamentalist Muslim
– The façade is falling, but the show goes on Conflict shall not dare to consider whether the publication was entitled or not. However, the Danish Jyllandsposten and the Norwegian «Magazinet» have given Norwegians and Danes the opportunity for observation of conditions which affects them at the highest level. The publication brought on the fact, which Conflict have discussed earlier, that the differences between a so-called moderate Muslim and a fundamentalist Muslim[3] are far less than certain people try to claim. Norway's moderate mascot-Muslim has for many years been the sympathetic Aslam Ahsan. Ahsan has, with his Christmas gatherings for poor people, won many Norwegian hearts and demonstrated that Muslims residing in Norway also take care of the society's weakest. In a debate with the editor of «Magazinet», Vebjørn Selbekk, the until now very moderate mr.Ahsan however said that Selbekk «has asked for it» when he was confronted with the fact that Selbekk had been notified that his wife and kids were to be killed. Norway's Pakistani father Christmas thus sanction acts of violence and threats against women and children.
Self-announced Norwegian intellectuals denounce the Koran– The battle of Troy not part of education at school of journalism The self-announced intellectuals in Norway are however more than willing to continue the masquerade, and continue themselves in the time of war to distinguish between moderate and fundamentalist Muslims. One blindly presupposes that the moderate Muslims will stay loyal citizens to the states they are members of, and not to the culture(ethnic)-nations. The Norwegian intellectual elite doubtfully have any other choice to see this differently.
- The old (right )and new (left) official norwegian ensignias If it should turn out that also so-called moderate Muslims follow the Koran and stand behind the claim of dictating Norwegian law and legal practice, the same intellectuals will have contributed to the fact that there are now some hundred thousand (the exact numbers are unknown) individuals in Norway who wish to limit the freedom of speech of ethnic Norwegians, and are willing to change the legal practice with violence. Earlier in the history of Norway, people have received the death sentence for similar circumstances. PST-chief Holmes statement; that the terror-threat is constituted by 3rd generation immigrants – Norwegian citizens – are suitable to strengthen a growing suspicion that the Kingdom of Norway is in the proud possession of a gigantic wooden horse, positioned a few hundred meters from the national assembly. (Conflict the 4th of February 2006 22:25)
[1] Islam is the religion's rightful name in «Dar al Islam», the house of peace. House of peace is a land where the Koran is the law. The Koran is not the law in Norway, so Norway is thus «Dar al Harb» - the house of War. [2]Norwegians with immigrant backgrounds are addressed as «minorities» in Norwegian press and other media. The Pakistani culture-nation has however 162419946 members, and is today a clear majority compared to the Norwegian culture-nation. The correct denotation for members of the Pakistani culture-nation residing in Norway thus becomes «majority compatriot». The Northern European culture-nation constitutes about 2 % of the world's population. [3] So-called fundamentalist Muslims are often addressed as «Islamists» in Norwegian press and other media, with the intention of creating a false distinction between those who speak the words of the Koran and those who hide them. |
