FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND PEDOPHILIA

The Swedish preacher Runar Sögaard talks about less popular historical events around the alleged prophet Muhammad in his sermons. It is Muhammad’s marriage with the nine year old girl Aysha that was established when Muhammad himself had passed 50 that the preacher is finding hard to swallow. Reactions, as they should when less flattering conditions around the religion of Islam are pointed out, came fast and in numbers.

Muslim understanding of freedom of speech and pedophilia

 Muslims all over Sweden are in rage after reading the statements the preacher repeated to Aftonbladet when they confronted him with the contents of his sermons (which have also been recorded to CDs for distribution).

-"I felt sick when I saw it", said the Muslim writer and debater Kurdo Baksi. He reported Sögaard to the police for promotion of racial hatred on Tuesday April 19th. Although, Baksi does not deny this side of Muhammad’s amorous life. Nor does he consider sexual intercourse with a nine year old girl to be pedophilia: -"Muhammad was not a pedophile as it was a legitimate marriage. Pedophilia is on a different level, for example when buying sex from children." Professor and islamolog at Lunds University, Jan Hjärpe, also confirms the marriage between Muhammad and the nine year-old.

Death threats

According to Aftonbladet, they received phone calls from hundreds of Muslims that informed them that they wanted Sögaard dead. -"We all know what happened to Pim Fortyun in Holland . Runar is going to regret this.", a 33 year old Muslim from Örebro said to Aftonbladet.

Pedophilia - halal(*) in Islam

Writer Walid al-Kubaisi confirms the Muslims' views on sex with children. On Human Rights Service (HRS)'s webpages, he writes:

-"In spite of prophet Muhammad’s marriage to 9 year old Aysha when he himself had passed 50, such a marriage has become unacceptable in modern times. With the Islamic(**) wave, people again started viewing such a marriage as acceptable. They use the prophet Muhammad as a scale."

Pedophilia as Muslim practice - a debate

Al-Kubaisi writes further:

"Dr. Osama Fawzi wrote about this. He warned al-Qaradawi (al-Qaradawi is a Sunni Muslim scholar, preacher and TV-celebrity. He is one of the theoretics of the Muslim brothers, the first Muslim battle organization in modern times, founded in 1928) about his fatwas(***) that allows marriage with underage girls. He emphasized the fact that it is punishable to legitimize pedophilia, that he can be imprisoned as a criminal in USA on the grounds of giving fatwas to the Muslims saying it is allowed (halal) to marry a 9 year old girl." I am one of those who sent him e-mail on his webpage and asked for clarification on this: Are you married to Asma, a girl you are 60 years older than? I got no answer. When I asked if it was allowed to marry a 9 year old girl, I got this answer: If she is a virgin and accepting, it is allowed.

 (...) the book Tahrir Al-Wasilah, which is a collection of Khomeini’s fatwas (vol. 2, p. 241). There is Khomeini’s fatwa stating that

 "One can not have sexual intercourse with the wife until she is 9 years old. But the rest of the sexual pleasures, such as touching lustfully, hugging and making out, are allowed even if the wife is an infant."

(...)The day after, I met him outside the store. I felt he had something on his mind that he was burning to say. I thought he was going to denounce Khomeini. I was all ears:    

-  "I looked in the books. It's not just Khomeini that allows marriage with infants. It's all ayatollahs (thereby also shia-muslims, our comment)."

I answered "Yes!" and still expected him to take his distance from such a pedophilia-practice.

He continued: "That means that this is Islam, which these ayatollahs agree on. Therefore you are wrong."

 (...)The same day I met a group of Muslims at a friend’s house. I told them that al-Qaradawi is married to Asma. This is pedophilia. They interrupted me: “No. Pedophilia is to fornicate with an underage girl without being married. Al-Qaradawi has married this girl, Asma, so it’s not pedophilia. How dare you talk like this about a great Muslim scholar that knows Islam better than you? We are not like Christian Norwegians. Christian priests are allowed to become gays. But a respected imam which is married to a young girl, awakens your wrath. Are you with us or with them?”

(***) fatwa: a law or ruling issued by a Muslim scholar. Also: official orders to murder, as in the case with Salman Rushdie and William Nygaard.
