 SOS-RACISM FAIL TO CONDEMN HOLOCAUST

In the aftermath of the events of the crystal night (9. November 2004) in which Jews and their friends were chased from Oslo the organisation SOS-racism has met substantial criticism – among others from the Wiesenthalcenter. The Democrat Jan Simonsen was present and addressed Minister Erna Solberg. She in turn discarded Simonsen`s accusations of public financing of anti-Semite organizations using the arguments of SOS-racism itself.  (Conflict 4. june 2005)

Lured by a jewish conspiracy?

In SOS-racisms version of the fatal event they state that they were victims of a provocation. It is hard to understand how a group of people carrying Israeli flags and stars of David can be though of as anything but Jews and/or friends of Israel. That these people where chased out of the city of Oslo by masked and armed youth brings back dark images of what one can only hope will remain contained in the history books.

 It is hard to understand how SOS-racism views the Star of David as a provocation, but claims of Jewish conspiracies are not that uncommon among anti-Semites.

1) Ask for retraction – 2) Refuse to reply

In the days following the event SOS-racism has filed a criminal case against the party “The Democrats” in which they demand a public retraction of claims made by The Democrats addressing SOS-racism as anti-Semite. As an answer to this claim The Democrats has declared willing to make such a retraction if SOS-racism denounces from various genocides including Holocaust.

On SOS-racism`s homepages all correspondence in the”crystal night-case” has been published. However The Democrats sent their reply more than three months ago. The WebPages of SOS- racism has been updated a number of times since then, though the answer from The Democrats has not been mentioned at all. It therefore seems that the activists at SOS-racism either do not want or are not able to denounce either genocide in general and/or Holocaust in itself. This is no surprise to those who have witnessed SOS-racism`s anti-Israel campaigns or the internal debates considering a strong infiltration by the Workers Communist Party (AKP).

It is, however, disturbing that such activities are publicly funded and even defended by a Norwegian minister in the year 2005.
